Joint H4+ Statement

24 September, 2012—We, UNAIDS, UNFPA, UNICEF, UN Women, WHO, and the World Bank, as the H4+, building on the collective strengths and comparative advantages of our six Agencies, jointly support countries with the highest rates of maternal, newborn and child mortality to accelerate progress towards achieving the health-related Millennium Development Goals.

We reaffirm our commitment to the United Nations Secretary-General’s Every Woman, Every Child Initiative which aims to mobilize and intensify global action to improve the health of women and children around the world.
We will continue to coordinate our efforts with leaders from governments, bilateral and multilateral organizations, the private sector and civil society to save the lives of 16 million women and children and improve the lives of millions more.
